72. Annual Conference of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association
the 72nd Annual Conference of the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) will be hosted by the Chandigarh Chapter of IRIA (ChIRIA) on January 17-20, 2019.
Chandigarh, also known as “City Beautiful”, is picturesquely located at the foothills of Shivaliks. It is considered as one of the best experiments in urban planning and modern architecture in India. The city has several tourist attractions like Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Rose Garden and is in close proximity to several other tourist spots like Shimla, Kasauli, Parwanoo, Manali etc.
Delegates travelling from overseas can use the opportunity to visit Taj Mahal, Golden temple and Jaipur. Chandigarh is well connected to major Indian cities by road, air and rail network. In addition, flight connectivity with many more international destinations is envisaged in near future.
The venue for the conference is the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) which is located in Sector-12. Founded in 1962, the PGIMER has a rich legacy in research and education. It is designated as one of the Institutes of National Importance by the Government of India. The Institute has produced several Padma Shree awardees which is the fourth highest civilian award in the Republic of India. The resident doctors and faculty members of the Institute bag several national and international academic awards every year.
The organizing committee has members with vast experience in organizing academic conferences. The scientific committee is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that the conference meets the expectations of resident doctors as well as practicing radiologists.
